Baja Fresh is a chain of fast-casual Tex-Mex restaurants founded in 1990 in Newbury Park, California and headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. Owned by Canadian franchisor, MTY Food Group, the chain emphasizes the use of fresh, quality ingredients, fire-grilled meats, a customizable menu, and a self-serve salsa bar.

2+ Architects designed this 2,300 square foot Baja Fresh restaurant located in South Miami, to reflect the new refreshed image of the brand in Miami, incorporating bright red and green on a backdrop of clean white— reminiscent of the Mexican Flag. The more modern style with high ceilings did not work using their brand standards from California so 2+ Architects successfully obtained a variant to the original brand design for specific projects in the Miami Area. The scope of work included Interiors and Architecture from Schematic Design to Construction Documents.
