The Owl residence project is the addition to an existing house located in Morningside, a residential and historic sub-neighborhood within the Upper Eastside of the City of Miami. 2+ Architects, using the essence of Luis Pons’ concept design, brought the project to life. The addition presented a number of interesting challenges. One critical element 2+ Architects navigated successfully was the need to keep the structural and formal integrity of the historic residence intact while incorporating the modern architectural language. Key elements in the project design were custom made to meet the owner’s taste and specifications. During the whole design process there was a close interaction amongst Owner, designers, architect, engineers and vendors in order to achieve the integration of each of the elements.
